Beer from Here

FOR “A MEAL OF THE FUTURE”

Background

The theme of the 2018 Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture annual gala was “a meal of the future,” an immersive journey into the fields and pastures to explore what we’ll be eating for dinner in 50 years. As part of the fête, Blue Hill collaborated with Captain Lawrence Brewing Company to create a beer made from rotation grains grown at Stone Barns, so gala guests literally drank “Beer from Here.”

The Work

We used the body of the cylindrical can to physically illustrate the rotational cycle, wrapping illustrations around the bottom half and highlighting the specific grains used for the brew. The name and branding matched the rest of the event — minimal and black and white — with “highlighter” swashes of yellow for emphasis and a work-in-progress feel.
