MIGHTY OAKS

ACORNS GROW

Background

Acorn Psychology is the private practice of Dr. Dena Dunn, a licensed clinical psychologist, infant mental health specialist, and child development consultant.

A true disrupter in her industry, Dr. Dunn wanted her brand to evoke a sense of support and nurturing, but not overly delicate or feminine, and feel professional and trustworthy.

Branding

I chose a chunky, friendly type treatment and transformed the “o” into a play on the acorn (and a baby in a hat).

The color scheme is a play on primary colors, plus a light grey neutral.

Imagery + Social Content

We chose crowdsourced photography (instead of stock photos) to convey true, tangible emotion in images of parents and families of all types.

Website

Acorn’s site needed to be bold and stand out from its peers’ one-page scrolling websites.

The navigation is designed to immediately display the most important pages, with dynamic interaction to surprise and delight users.

The internal pages are straightforward and include more imagery for easy scanning, and a call-to-action to get in touch with Dr. Dunn.

Business Cards

Rich brand colors with an unconventional layout.
